How We Communicate

It is the association's goal to be green, up-to-date, modern, and save as much paper we can. Therefore we try to do all of our correspondence over the Internet, using email, our Yahoo group, and our website. It is our intention to contact neighbors who are not connected to the internet by working through our block representatives. This makes block representatives a very important part of the organization.

If your neighbor is not connected, it is very important that you keep him tuned in about what we are doing. Talking to your neighbor is the very essence of a neighborhood association.

Members Mailing List

Cherryhill Neighborhood Association maintains a moderated mailing list, members@cherryhillna.org which is used sparingly by the officers of the association for important announcements such as meetings and block parties. Expect about one or two emails per month, if that many. To protect members from excessive email, all postings to this list must be approved by the mailing list moderator.

Subscribe to the mailing list by becoming a member of the association Simply click on the sidebar button, "Join the Association" that appears on the left-hand side of every page. Clicking there will take you to our membership form, which you can then fill out and submit. To go directly to the membership form click here: membership form . Once you have joined the association the moderator will add you to the mailing list.

You can unsubscribe from the list at any time by sending an email to majordomo@cherryhillna.org from the address you wish unsubscribed with “unsubscribe members” in the body of the email. This will unsubscribe the email address that you mailed from. To unsubscribe a different email address than that from which you are mailing, include “unsubscribe members <the email address to unsubscribe>” in the body of the email. We sincerely hope that you will not unsubscribe unless you move from the nieghborhood.

Cherryhill Yahoo Group

We maintain a Yahoo Group, cherryhill_neighbors, just for our local neighborhood. You are probably already familiar with Yahoo Groups; if not, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cherryhill_neighbors/ to learn more. Membership in the group is moderated. You can easily become a member by clicking on “Join this group” on the Yahoo page. You must also be a Yahoo member to participate — Sign in if you are — otherwise you can easily sign up for a Yahoo Groups account by clicking on "Sign-up”.

When you sign up for an account, you need reveal little or nothing about yourself. You can remain anonymous! You can easily control the amount of email you receive — you can receive an email every time there is a new message; you can receive a daily digest of messages; or you can just go to the Yahoo site and read the messages without receiving any email at all! It’s a nice system.

Anyone who is a member of the group can post to the group. Once you join you are part of an un-moderated forum of neighbors discussing items of neighborhood interest:

Discussions, announcements
Exchanges of information about contractors, babysitters, etc.
A list of contractor referrals is included
make recommendations for the association — new ideas, new activities
Plan and discuss neighborhood events, block parties, etc.
Discuss traffic issues
Discuss criminal activity in the neighborhood and nearby

Membership in the Yahoo group is limited to those that actually live within our boundaries. When you sign up please indicate your address in the application. When you sign up for the Yahoo group you will be added to the members mailing list as well.
